School Year 2009-2010

Stevenson Elementary has 372 students in K-4.  Our school has six kindergarten classrooms, five first grades, five second grades, four third grades and three fourth grades.  All of our teachers are highly qualified and we are implementing all ARI recommendations.  We met all areas of AYP for the 2008-2009 school year and were recognized by the State of Alabama as "Meeting the Challenge."   Our average SAT scores for third and fourth grade were above average for reading and math.  We are extremely proud of the progress our students are making.   Our focus this current year is to evaluate all areas of our reading and math programs to look for ways to help our students continue to grow academically through whole group, small group and intervention efforts.
